G0704 CNC Benchtop Milling Machine Enclosure

I searched a long time for examples of chip and coolant enclosures for the G0704 CNC before I settled on this one. I first constructed the chip pan, fiber glasses all the seams and coated it with bed liner. Next I bolted the chip pan in place of the original pan. I then constructed the rest of the encloure around the chip pan. This upgrade when finished should make the G0704 even more useful.

Y axis ballscrew

Firt impressions of the new Y axis ballscrew are good. Several G0704 owners have had success with this same ballscrew. Reports show backlash to be between 0.002" - 0.007". There is an option of ordering oversized balls to reload the ballnut with if mine turns out to have too much backlash. More later

G0704 CNC Milling Machine

I have made an addition to my shop which should greatly aid in the design and building process of my cnc routers. I bought a G0704 milling machine from Grizzly Machine Tools and I am converting it over to CNC control.

The Mill will be controlled by a desktop PC and run by a software called Mach3, it is from a company called Artsoft.

This will be a great addition to my shop and I will soon be offering CNC machining services as well, drop me a line and let me know what you think or ask any questions you might have
