I have been working on My own Hobby CNC Router Machine for a while now, and it is at this point that I will begin to get more serious with getting it finished. The machine designs are a loose combination of things I have seen on CNCforum and other websites about hobby CNC machines.
The machine will be a fixed gantry style machine, the table which is about 24"x 12" will be the Y axis, while the Gantry will hold the X and Z axis. I hope to obtain about 30" of Y travel, 20" of X travel and around 6-8" of Z travel. At this point I do not have exact specs of how the machine will turn out as most of the design is happening as It evolves. This machine will be driven by stepper motors and pre built drivers. As of right now I plan on ordering one of the kits from keiliginc.net, they do have some nice stuff over there and have the best value I have seen yet.
I hope to get some pictures of my Homebuilt CNC Router up by this weekend so you can follow along with my progress. This is my first machine build so I plan on going the same route as most and use the machine to improve itself once it is completed.
